WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM:

The District operates what is primarily a gravity flow system. There is 9.2 miles of gravity sewer line with pipe ranging in size from 15” to 21” that starts in Eyota and runs through Dover and St. Charles to the lift station on the north side of St. Charles. A 14” pipe force main runs 0.6 miles from the lift station to the wastewater treatment facility.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY:

The wastewater treatment facility is a complete mix activated sludge plant, operated as an extended aeration process. The process consists of a grit chamber, traveling screen, two oxidation ditches with brush rotor aeration, two final clarifiers, effluent chlorination, effluent dechlorination, cascade effluent aeration and biosolids storage lagoon.
